The Historical Regatta in a Venetian Palace

Da Venicewiki, il wiki di Venezia

On the first Sunday of September, the famous Historical Regatta takes place in Venice.

This year the first Sunday is September 2 and those who want to have a front row seat and enjoy the amazing show that takes place along the Grand Canal has the opportunity to look out in a beautiful building on the Grand Canal and from the balconies of Palazzo Benzon applaud the transit of the boats of the historical parade and cheer for the passage of racing boats with the most famous racers who also this year will compete for the prestigious red flag, remaining comfortably inside a historic Venetian palace, with all the comforts, sipping a cold drink and eating typical Venetian dishes.

All the boats are richly decorated and conducted by oarsmen in period costumes, to remember the wedding in 1355 of the Duke of Ferrara.

In the gondola, with four rowers, there are the Doge of Venice and the Countess Caterina Cornaro.
