How to get to Burano

Burano is an island of the northern lagoon of Venice and is inhabited by fishermen and producers of lace.

Highly colored houses are very popular for contrasting colors that are reflected on the waters of the lagoon.
When you pass to the island of Burano do not forget to taste the Bussolà Buranello, delicious egg biscuits, in their distinctive round shape, or the equally famous shape Esse, whose recipe is not recommended if you have cholesterol problems or blood sugar.

By Venice to reach Burano, you have to go to the Fondamente Nove, from where the ferry connections to the island of lace.

As an alternative, a new company, Consorzio Vidali Group, offers the possibility of traveling comfortably seated on a motorboat, departing a few tens of meters from Piazzale Roma, making the first step to Murano, to continue, after a break, to Burano.

Two daily races take place. The first starting at 10.00, as it was said a few tens of meters from Piazzale Roma, near the Calatrava bridge.
The second runs at 14.30 to a hundred meters from St. Mark's Square, opposite the Caserma Cornoldi.
The return of the two races is always close to San Marco, from the starting point of the afternoon excursion.
Only the afternoon race, after having first touched Murano and then Burano, also stops at Torcello before return, as it was said, to San Marco.
